In this compelling suite of four images Steve Hanks invites us to contemplate two

What the four subjects are feeling, what they are thinking, will eternally remain a private matter? "These are paintings of women, yes, but they are also paintings of emotions," Steve Hanks remarks. "I find women express a far more subtle range of intimacy and vulnerability than men who often project a certain preconceived idea of masculinity."
