Originally painted in 1976
to honor our country's bi-centennial year,
"The Prayer at Valley Forge" in the last 20 years has become increasingly
cherished and recognized as a supreme 20th century masterpiece of patriotic
American art. In it we feel the cold, the suffering, and the weight of the burden
falling on the tall and lonely man, driving him to his knees there in the bitter snows
of Valley Forge. |

"The Word of the
Lord" combines the energy of Hollywood entertainment and
the impact of history. In it we see Moses, standing before God on Mt. Sinai,
receiving the tenfold proclamation that the entire Western Civilization is founded
upon and at the same time we see one of the greatest tributes of both man and
truth ever produced, the original King James Bible. |

And the Lord said unto
Moses, Lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it.
And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a
strong east wind,
and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. And the children of Israel went
into the midst of the
sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on
their left.
Thus the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians. abridged from
Exodus 14
From the thundering pages of Holy Writ have come man's supreme inspiration for his
greatest
achievements in literature, drama, music, and art. It was the Holy Bible itself that
inspired
Cecil B. DeMille's epic motion picture "The Ten Commandments." As his chief
artist and designer,
Arnold Friberg spent over three years working closely with Mr.DeMille, visualizing in
hundreds of
sketches and paintings, bringing to life a variety of scenes and human characters for the
motion picture
and the authentic historic costumes for the leading stars. |
