To
commemorate the RCMP 125th. Anniversary
Of all the 300 "Mountie" pictures Arnold Friberg has painted through the years,
this one stands alone! While all the former ones were created
for use on advertising calendars for The Northwest Paper Company, this special
commemorative subject was painted purely and exclusively
for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. |
Here in this dramatic painting, we are witness to the
unfolding drama of Canadian history. The strong solid realism seen in the commanding
figure of the rider on his splendid mount stands in contrast to the airy visionary
procession of "riders in the sky" bringing to mind memories of the many who have
gone before, whose courage and devotion did establish the enduring traditions of the
Force. By including the lettered motto and the crests of the RCMP and of Canadas
Provinces and Territories, the artist has here bound together, into one epic historic
images, 125 years of strength, service and devotion to duty. |

Release. Now available in on canvas. This image introduced Arnold Friberg's art to
Canadians. It quickly became a sold out edition, and is now a highly sought after
secondary market print. Looking into the rugged face of the storyteller, you feel the
spirit that has made the RCMP famous throughout the world and an inspiration to all boys.
(A personal note: Many people don't know that the young boy in the ski sweater is Arnold
Friberg's son, Frank.) |

Release. Another instant favorite of collectors not only in Canada, but everywhere, this
painting takes us into an old frontiersman's cabin, reminiscing with his good friend in
scarlet serge about past days of his adventures. We feel we're almost at the North Pole,
with Saint Nick just around the corner! |
