Title: Little Red Riding Hood
Medium: Lithograph
Image Size: 19¼" x 22"
Edition Size: 3,500 S&N |
The main focus in "Little Red Riding Hood" is on Gustafson's
innocent, angelic title character and the delightful wolf in grandma's clothing, of
course, but notice, too, the sumptuous quilt, the bed's curtains, the intricacies of
"grandma's" shawl, and the contents of the basket of goodies, the grandfather
clock by the bed, and everything else. All those details make this limited-edition print
the work of art it truly is.
"Painting the wolf that big was a high point for me, " Scott exclaimed
enthusiastically. "I was toying with the idea of having him just peek out from under
the covers, but, ultimately, I didn't want to deprive myself of the chance to paint the
wolf in all his glory." |
| "The nice thing about what I do is that both adults and children can
respond to it. I want to create something that kids can come back to, when they become
adults, and say, 'You know, I liked those pictures when I was a kid, but now I see even
more in them." --- Scott Gustafson |
